Terms of Use
Effective date: 1 August 2026
These terms describe how Orenza may be used. They reflect how the app works today for the controlled pilot.
Eligibility and parent responsibility
Orenza is for parents and guardians aged 18 or over. Accounts are held by adults. Children do not create or use accounts. If you add a child profile, you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian and that you are responsible for the information you enter about them.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details private and use accurate information. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
Permitted use
Use Orenza to prepare your own family for school and to buy or pass on school items to other parents. Do not scrape, resell, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or to other families' data.
Accurate listings and item condition
If you list an item, describe it honestly: correct item, size, school where relevant, and a fair description of wear, marks or missing parts. Photographs must be of the actual item. Sellers are responsible for what they list and sell.
Schools are not affiliated
Listing an item against a school, or showing a school's uniform information, does not mean the school endorses, supplies, checks or is otherwise involved with Orenza. School uniform details are compiled from published sources and may change; always check with the school if something matters.
Prohibited items and behaviour
Do not list counterfeit goods, unsafe or recalled items, soiled or unhygienic clothing, weapons, medicines, or anything you are not entitled to sell. Do not use Orenza to advertise unrelated goods or services, or to harass, discriminate against, or endanger anyone.
Messages and respectful conduct
Keep messages relevant and respectful. Do not send abusive content, or ask another parent for information about their children. We may review reported conversations.
Purchasing and fees
Where purchasing is available, the buyer pays the item price, a flat buyer fee per order, and postage where the seller offers it. School credit, where you hold any, is applied to the buyer fee first. The seller receives the item price. Fees are shown before you confirm an order.
Purchasing may be switched off or limited during the controlled pilot. When it is off, you can still browse, save items and contact sellers.
Meet-up handover
Most items are handed over in person. Agree a sensible public place, bring the item as described, and confirm the handover in the app so the order can complete. You are responsible for your own safety at a meet-up.
Payment provider
Payments are processed by Stripe. Orenza does not receive or store your card details. Your use of the payment flow is also subject to the payment provider's own terms.
Cancellations and refunds
An order that has not been paid can be cancelled by the buyer, and a checkout that is left unfinished expires automatically. After payment, you can request cancellation in the app; our team reviews the request and, where a refund is approved, it is returned through the original payment method and the item is returned to the marketplace where appropriate. Refund decisions and their reasons are recorded.
Availability
Orenza is offered as-is during a controlled pilot. Features may change, be paused or be withdrawn, and the service may be unavailable at times.
Suspension and moderation
We may hide a listing, decline an order, restrict messaging, or suspend an account where we believe these terms have been broken or where a user or child may be at risk.
Intellectual property
The Orenza name, app and content belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership of the listing text and photographs you upload, and you grant us permission to display them in the app for the purpose of running the service.
Liability
Orenza is a platform connecting parents. Items are sold by other parents, not by us, and we are not a party to the sale beyond holding payment and handling refunds as described above.
Requires legal confirmation: the limitation-of-liability, indemnity, governing-law and dispute-resolution wording has not yet been drafted or reviewed by a solicitor and must be completed before wider launch.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page as the app changes and will change the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
